Main Menu on Facebook: Reflys Guide

Imagine giving your customers a home page, right inside their Messenger chat. That’s exactly what the Reflys does. Main menu also known as Persistent Menu, is like having a mini home page inside the chat window that stays available at all times during a conversation. 

In Facebook Messenger, the main menu appears when you click the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of a chat.

With just a tap, users can quickly:

  • gives users clear options to start a conversation
  • Helps them quickly find what they need
  • Works 24/7—even when your team is offline
  • You can customize it to match your business goals

How to Set Up the Main Menu on Messenger

On Messenger, it shows up when the user taps the three-line menu icon at the bottom of the chat.

In Reflys’ dashboard,

Go to Automation > Basic > Messenger > Main Menu

2. Once you have selected the Main Menu section, click + Menu Item. You can add up to 3 menu items.

In text, you can add items like:

  • Trigger automations
  • Send quick messages

Or open a website link directly

You can also edit the automation message in the Flow Builder. Do not forget to ‘set it live’ after changes.

3. When you are done with the setup, click the Update Menu button in the upper-right corner to finalize and save your changes live.

Troubleshooting the Main Menu

1. Can’t publish the menu?

  • Refresh permissions from your Reflys dashboard
  • Make sure you’re an Admin or Page Owner

2. Menu not showing or buttons not working?

  • Check that the menu is saved and published 
  • Try making a small change (like adding/removing a space) and save again
  • Make sure all linked automations are live

Tips to Improve Your Menu

  • Use short, clear titles like:
    • “View Products”
    • “Track Order”
    • “Talk to Support”
  • Place the most important actions at the top
  • Update your menu as your business changes
